I'm going to spend next week in European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) located in Noordwijk (Netherlands) along with my team. We're going there to participate in 8-th European Students Space Oribter (ESEO) Workshop, for which we're designing an on-board data handling system (OBDH).

Up to this day I was wondering what does one feel when somebody tells him he was beloved. Now I know it :) My birthday was joyful.

I guess that is the story of life: what you most fear never happens, but what you most yearn for never happens either. This is the difference between life and fiction. I suppose it's a good trade-off. But I'm not sure.

Philip Kindred Dick

I've recently been listening to music and radio very quietly. "Listening" is not a relevant word because I hardly hear anything. Radio is producing only intriguing noises. They blend with outdoor noises. You can't distinguish any particualr word, nor music phrase - nothing at all. There's only pleasant, melodic noise.

Ow. And Mr. Dick had got to be wrong. Exactly one month ago, events of both kinds happened to me.

All this really happened. One should bear in mind that people who experienced all this lived and existed.

60 years ago, on August 1, 1944 an uprising in occupied Warsaw broke out. It last for 63 days. Many great Poles died then, along with over 250, 000 Warsaw citizens. The sad thing about Warsaw uprising was that it really could have been successfull... but it didn't. One of the major reason for its fall was poor commandership and complete lack of radio communication (messages were exchanged using boy scouts running across the city, often during fierce shootout!).

Hitler commanded to raze Warsaw to the ground and kill all his citizens, after he has been reached by the information about uprising. Luckily local german commanders remarked that killing civilians disctracts soldiers from fighting with partizans, so they commanded to kill "only" teen and mature males.
