About the author
Michal Pindakiewcz studied
with prof. Janusz Raczyński in Elsner Secondary Music School in Warsaw and
completed his studies with prof. Ryszard Bałauszko in Frederic Chopin Academy
of Music in Warsaw. He took part in various masterclasses in Poland and abroad,
with R. Aussel, G. Crosskey, L. Potasinski, D. Russell and P. Steidl among
others. He is a laureate of international guitar competitions - in Gdansk (1993
- 1st Prize, 1999 - 2nd Prize), Krynica (1996 - 2nd Prize), Kutna Hora (1996 -
4th place) and Cracow (1997 - 4th place and a distinction).
Michal Pindakiewicz plays
solo recitals and chamber concerts with guitar ensemble Trio Arche. He performs
programs of classical and contemporary music. The repertoire includes music by
XIX century composers like Sor, Giuliani, Mertz and contemporary music of
Brouwer, Domeniconi, Bellinati, Bogdanović and more. He also plays pieces with
orchestra - Fantasia para un Gentilhombre by Joaquin Rodrigo and Concerto by Heitor
Villa-Lobos. In 1996 Michal Pindakiewicz (together with guitarists A. Gradzki
and M. Olak) founded the ensemble Trio Arche, which performs mostly XX century
music, mixing the elements of classical, jazz and rock music in a unique way.
Trio Arche won prizes in festivals in Kielce and Przemysl in 1997.
