Wychowanek
Poznańskiej Szkoly Chóralnej J. Kurczewskiego
oraz Liceum Muzycznego w Poznaniu (kl. oboju i śpiewu).
Ukończył z wyróżnieniem Akademię Muzyczną w Warszawie,
a następnie wyjechał na stypendium wokalne do Wiednia
(kl. Prof. Kurta Equiluza - pieśń i oratorium). Odbył kursy
mistrzowskie w Innsbrucku (muzyka barokowa) u R. Jacobsa.
Jest laureatem wielu krajowych i
międzynarodowych
konkursów wokalnych (Konkurs Mozartowski w Salzburgu
– II nagroda, Pieśniarski w Wiedniu - III nagroda
oraz nagroda za najlepsze wykonanie pieśni Beethovena,
operowy w Wiedniu “Belvedere”).
Od 1982 roku solista Opery
Narodowej w Warszawie,
równocześnie współpracuje z Operą Kameralną w Warszawie
oraz Teatrami Operowymi w Krakowie, Wrocławiu, Poznaniu.
Ma w swym dorobku główne partie w operach Haendla,
Mozarta, Rossiniego, Czajkowskiego, Pendereckiego...
Jego pasją jest muzyka oratoryjno - kantatowa. Ceniony
odtwórca partii tenorowych w dziełach Bacha, Haendla, Haydna,
Mendelssohna, Elgara, Brittena. Występował pod batutą
znakomitych dyrygentów, takich jak: H. Czyż, A. Duczmal,
M. Gielen, M. Horvat, E. Kolomar, V.Kranjčević, J. Krenz,
J. Maksymiuk, H. Rielling, V. Schmidt-Gertenbach,
J. Semkow, St. Stuligrosz, H. Wallberg, F. Zigante.
Dokonał wielu nagrań dla PR i TV oraz
rozgłośni niemieckich.
Ma w dorobku ponad 20 płyt CD solowych i zespołowych (Arie
koncertowe i operowe W. A. Mozarta z Orkiestrą “Sinfonia
Varsovia”, “Msze Staropolskie” z zespołem “Il Canto”,
“War Requiem” Brittena pod batutą Milana Horwata).
Szczególnie gorąco przyjmowane
są przez publiczność
recitale pieśni, które odbywają się często w takich miejscach jak:
dom urodzin Haydna (Rohrau), dom Schuberta Wiedeń,
Heinehaus w Lüneburgu. Uczestniczył w wielu krajowych
i międzynarodowych festiwalach muzycznych, m. in. w 1997
otwierał Letni Festiwal z operą w Zagrzebiu wykonując partię
Belmonte w ”Uprowadzeniu z Seraju” W. A. Mozarta. W 1999
został zaproszony do wykonania “Requiem” W. A. Mozarta
na uroczystym koncercie związanym z obchodami 150 rocznicy
śmierci Fr. Chopina w Kościele de la Madeleine w Paryżu
z Orchestre National de France pod dyrekcją Jerzego Semkowa.

Krzysztof Szmyt was
born in 1957 in Wiry near Poznań.
He obtained his music education at the J. Kurczewski Choir
School in Poznań and at the Music High School in Poznań
(classes: oboe, singing). From 1977 to 1983 he studied
at the Warsaw Academy of Music with Prof. M. Halfter
and graduated with first class honours. A scholarship enabled
him to go to Vienna to continue his vocal studies with Prof. Kurt
Equiluz (song and oratorio). He attended master classes
in Innsbruck (baroque music) with René Jacobs.
He is a prizewinner of many national and international
vocal
competitions (the Mozart Competition in Salzburg - 2nd prize,
the Song Competition in Vienna - 3rd prize and the reward
for the best performance of Beethoven - “Belvedere” Opera
Competition in Vienna.
He has been a soloist at the National Opera in Warsaw
since 1982, and also collaborates with the Chamber Opera
and the Opera Theatres of Kraków, Poznań and Wrocław.
His repertoire includes main roles in operas by such composers
as Haendel, Mozart, Rossini, Czajkowski, and Penderecki.
Krzysztof Szmyt is a highly valued performer of oratorio
and cantata music, particularly in the works of Bach, Britten,
Elgar, Haendel, Haydn, and Mendelssohn. For years
he has been cooperating with renowned conductors such as
A. Duczmal, H. Czyż, M. Gielen, M. Horvat, E. Kolomar,
V.Kranjčević, J. Krenz,
J. Maksymiuk, H. Rielling,
V. Schmidt-Gertenbach, J. Semkow, St. Stuligrosz,
H. Wallberg, F. Zigante.
He has made numerous recording for Polish Radio
and Television, as well as for German broadcastings. He has
also released over 20 solo and ensemble CDs (Mozart’s concert
and operatic arias with “Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra”, Old Polish
Masses with “Il Canto”, and Britten’s “War Requiem”
conducted by Milan Horvat).
The most popular with audiences are K. Szmyt's song
recitals,
often held in such places as Haydn's birthplace (Rohrau),
Schubert's house near Vienna or Heinehaus in Lüneburg.
The artist has taken part in many international festivals;
in 1997 he made a guest appearance at the Summer Festival
in Zagreb singing Belmonte in Mozart's “The Abduction
from the Seraglio” with the Zagreb Opera. In 1999 he was
invited to perform in Mozart’s “Requiem” in a concert
commemorating the 150th anniversary of Chopin’s death,
performed by “Orchestre National de France”, conducted by
Jerzy Semkow in the Church de la Madeleine in Paris.

Krzysztof Szmyt wurde
1957 in Wiry bei Posen geboren.
Seine erste musikalische Ausbildung bekam er in der Staatlichen
Knabenchorschule in Posen, die von Jerzy Kurczewski geleitet
wurde. Nach der Grundschule besuchte er das
Karlowicz-Musikgymnasium in Posen (Oboenklasse
von Prof. Kaczorowski) und erhielt gleichzeitig
Gesangsunterricht bei Prof. Bienkowska. Von 1977 bis 1983
studierte er an der Chopin-Musikakademie in Warschau
unter der Leitung von Prof. M. Halfter und beendete sein
Studium dort mit der Auszeichnung. 1985 setzte er seinen
Gesangsunterricht bei Prof. K. Pustelak fort.
Nachdem er das österreichische Staatstipendium erhalten hatte,
entdeckte er mit Hilfe von R. Jacobs in Innsbruck und K. Equiluz in Wien,
seine Fähigkeiten, Barockmusik stilgerecht zu interpretieren.
Krzysztof Szmyt gewann 1983 den
I. Preis beim Kammermusikwettbewerb
in Łódź, 1986 einen Sonderpreis für die beste Interpretation
der Lieder von L. van Beethoven beim Internationalen Liedwettbewerb
in Wien, 1988 den II. Preis
beim Internationalen Mozart-Wettbewerb
in Salzburg
und 1990 den Prager Opernpreis und den Preis
des Hessischen Rundfunks Frankfurt /M. beim Internationalen Belvedere
Wettbewerb für Opernsänger in Wien.
Seit 1982 ist er ständiger
Solist der Warschauer Oper.
Gastspiele mit dem Warschauer Ensemble führten ihn auch
an die Opernhäuser von Dresden, Moskau, Paris und Wien.
Sein bereits aufgeführtes Repertoire umfaßen die Partien seines
Fachs aller wichtigen Oratorien und Kantaten von Händel,
Haydn, Bach, Dvorák. Seit Jahren arbeitet Krzysztof Szmyt
mit vielen bekannten Dirigenten wie H. Czyż, A. Duczmal, M. Gielen,
M. Horvat, E. Kolomar, V.Kranjčević, J. Krenz,
J. Maksymiuk, H. Rielling, V. Schmidt-Gertenbach, J. Semkow,
St. Stuligrosz, H. Wallberg und F. Zigante zusammen.
Aufgrund seiner einfühlsamen
Interpretationen, -insbesonders
von Schubert-Lieder, finden Krzysztof Szmyts Liederabende
ein großes Interesse und wurden bereits vom Polnischen Radio,
sowie vom Südfunk Stuttgart aufgenommen. Lieder
von Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Debussy, Mozart,
Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikowsky, Szymanowski,
Moniuszko und Chopin gehören zu seinen Konzertprogrammen.

Krzysztof Szmyt est né
en 1957 à Wiry, près de Poznań.
Il reçoit sa première formation musicale à l’Ecole nationale
des choeurs de garçons de Poznań, sous la direction de Jerzy
Kurczewski. Après sa première scolarité il fait ses études
au lycée de Musique de Poznań (dans la classe de hautbois
du Prof. Koczorowski) et suit en même temps des cours de chant
avec le Prof. Bieńkowska. De 1977 a 1983, il fréquente
l’Académie de musique de Varsovie, sous la direction
du Prof. Halfter et termine ses études avec mention.
En 1985, il poursuit ses cours de chant sous la direction
du Prof. Pustelak. Il développe ses aptitudes a l’interprétation
de style de la musique baroque avec l’aide de R. Jacobs,
à Innsbruck, et, après obtention d’une bourse de l’État
autrichien, auprès du Prof. Equiluz à Vienne.
Il a remporté en 1983 le 1er prix du
concours de musique
de chambre de Łódź, un prix spécial de meilleure interprétation
des lieds de L. van Beethoven en 1986 au concours international
de lieds de Vienne, le 2eme prix au concours international
Mozart de Salzbourg en 1988, et il a gagné en 1990 le prix
de l’opéra de Prague aussi que le prix de Radio-Hesse
de Francfort-sur-le-Main au concours international du Belvédère
des chanteurs de l’opéra de Vienne.
Depuis 1982, il a constamment été
employé comme soliste
de l’opéra de Varsovie. Avec l’Ensemble de Varsovie, il a chanté
des représentations devant les auditoires des opéras de Dresde,
Moscou, Paris, et Vienne.
Son répertoire déjà évoqué comprend
les parties de sa
compétence de tous les principaux oratoires et cantates
de Bach, Händel, Haydn, Dvorak...
Il travaille depuis des années avec des chefs d’orchestre
de renom tels H. Czyż, A. Duczmal, M. Gielen, M. Horvat,
E. Kolomar,
V.Kranjčević,
J. Krenz, J. Maksymiuk,
H. Rielling, V. Schmidt-Gertenbach, J. Semkow, St. Stuligrosz,

Les récitals de Krzysztof Szmyt, en
particulier les lieds
de Schubert, soulèvent en raison de la sensibilité d’interprétation
de leur exécutant, un très vif intéret, et ont déjà été primés
par la radio polonaise et par le Südfunk Stuttgart.
Son programme comprend entre autrès des oeuvres
de Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Debussy, Mozart,
Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikowsky, Szymanowski,
Moniuszko, et Chopin.
