CZECH OPEN 2003
14th International Festival of Chess, Bridge and Games
Pardubice 10th - 27th July 2003
Dear chessfriends,
Let me invite you for the fourteenth time to Pardubice Festival which from this year on will bear the title the Festival of Chess, Bridge and Games. In addition to traditional chess disciplines bridge and go tournaments will take place as last year. Novelty will be tournaments in playing computer games, draughts, shogi and marriage tournaments. Other mental sports and games will be also presented. If you yourself go in for some of them you will have occasion for presentation them to others at our festival.
For the first time you will be given the possibility of trying a game with electronic clocks this year, namely in all tournaments with the exception of B, C and D tournaments. It will be played with adding 30s for every performed move in A, E and J tournaments, in all others standard rating will be used.
In view of the fact that FIDE begins to classify players with ELO from 1801 onwards, we have changed partly conditions for participation in tournaments B, C and D.
We will be very pleased if you accept participation in 3rd International Chess Tournaments Series CZECH TOUR 2003/2004, whose part will be in addition to a rating tournament J held within the frame of the Festival CZECH OPEN also rating tournaments in Olomouc, Znojmo, Liberec, Prague and Marianske Lazne.
I am looking forward to meeting you.
Dr. Jan Mazuch
