Book Reviews by John Watson

International Master John L. Watson's book reviews for the TWIC pages.
[John Watson has a new book called "Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy" which is a fascinating discussion of chess theory as it has grown up since the classic accounts published in the 1920's and 1930's. Unfortunately John won't review his own books! but for me this was the most interesting book I've seen since Eli Agur's book on Fischer. Chess Survey Results

Dr. Tor Rønnow of Denmark has carried out a survey of chess players. The purpose of the survey was to investigate, whether certain profiles can be ascribed to strong players as opposed to weaker players - then it might be clear, what the weaker players need to care about if they want to improve their game.
